With the [Digital Tele-Converter] setting, a focal length that is equivalent to 1.5x or 2.0x digital zoom can be achieved. Compared to the normal zooming operation (including digital zoom), even higher magnification can be achieved without decreasing lens brightness. You can shoot with faster shutter speeds while reducing camera and subject shake.
It is convenient to have this setting preset when you want to zoom in on distant subjects to capture them.
