Firmware Version 1.4.3 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes:
1. Adds support for Battery Pack NB-15L.
2. Improves other system stability.
If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.4.3, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
Please perform the firmware update with only the firmware file to be updated stored on the memory card.
Notes:
Users manual in the WEB is updated accordingly. Please download the manual as well as the latest firmware. You can download it from the official WEB site.
Preparations for a firmware update:
After the downloaded compressed file (.dmg file) is extracted, a firmware folder is created.
*Extracting the downloaded file:
The downloaded folder is automatically extracted, and a firmware folder is created. If the download folder cannot be automatically extracted, double-click the folder.
In the folder you downloaded are the firmware (SX740HS143.FIR / file size: 27,811,488 bytes) and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese). Before starting the firmware update operations, please be sure to carefully review the instructions to confirm your understanding of the firmware update procedures.

Changes in version 1.4.1:
1. This firmware update ensures compliance with the EU RED EN18031 standard by removing certain network functions.
Affected Features:
Image Upload: Sending images to image.canon will be disabled.
FTP Transfer & Live Streaming: These functions will no longer be available after the update.
Important:
Please review the following information before proceeding with the update.
・Once installed, this update cannot be reversed. If you use these features, do not update the firmware.
・This change only affects cameras purchased in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
・Cameras purchased in other regions will retain these functions after updating; only the firmware version will change.
Changes in version 1.0.2:
1. Corrects a PTP communications vulnerability.
2. Corrects a vulnerability related to firmware update.

1. Corrects a phenomenon in which in rare cases, the image displayed on the LCD monitor is split into two horizontal sections.
