When using the [Pre REC] (pre-recording) function, the camcorder will start recording 3 seconds before you press the start/stop button, ensuring you do not miss important shooting opportunities. This is especially useful when it is difficult to predict when to start recording.

The procedure for setting the [Pre REC] function is explained below.

1. Turn on the camcorder.

2. Touch [

Drag your finger left/right to bring the [Special Rec Modes] menu to the center, and then

touch the icon to open it.

Drag your finger up/down to bring

to the center, and then

touch the icon in the center.

You can also touch [OK] instead of touching the icon.

5. Press the start/stop button.

The scene recorded in the memory will start 3 seconds before the start/stop button was pressed.

NOTE

The camcorder will not record the full 3 seconds prior to pressing the start/stop button if the button was pressed within 3 seconds of having turned on pre-recording or having finished the previous recording.
When the movie format is AVCHD and you activate the pre-recording function, the time code will start running.
The [Pre REC] setting will remain activated even if the camcorder’s power is turned off.
