Toner does not fix well.
Appropriate paper is not being used.
Replace the paper with that which can be used with this printer.
[Usable Paper]
Coarse paper is being used.
<Remedy 1>
1. Display the [Paper Source] sheet.
2. Set [Paper Type] to [Heavy Paper 1] or [Heavy Paper 2].
<Remedy 2>
Perform the following procedure in the printer driver.
1. Display the [Finishing] sheet.
2. Click [Finishing Details], then click [Advanced Settings] in the [Finishing Details] dialog box.
3. Set [Special Print Mode] to [Special Settings 5].
If this solves the problem, set [Special Print Mode] to [Off].
Depending on the paper type or the operating environment (especially in a low-humidity or low-temperature environment), the toner does not fix onto paper well, and the printing may come out faint.
<Remedy 1>
Perform the following procedure in the printer driver.
1. Display the [Finishing] sheet.
2. Click [Finishing Details], then click [Advanced Settings] in the [Finishing Details] dialog box.
3. Set [Special Print Mode] to [Special Settings 6].
If this solves the problem, set [Special Print Mode] to [Off].
<Remedy 2>
If the problem is not solved even after applying the Remedy 1, perform the following procedure in the printer driver.
1. Set [Special Print Mode] to [Off].
2. Display the [Paper Source] sheet.
3. Specify [Paper Type] as follows.
* However, residual images may appear on non-printed areas.
- If [Plain Paper L] is specified: Specify [Plain Paper].
- If [Plain Paper] is specified: Specify [Heavy Paper 1].
- If [Heavy Paper 1] is specified: Specify [Heavy Paper 2].
- If [Envelope] is specified: Specify [Envelope H].
- If [Coated Paper 1] is specified: Specify [Coated Paper 2].
- If [Coated Paper 2] is specified: Specify [Coated Paper 3].
- If [Coated Paper 3] is specified: Specify [Coated Paper 4].
A problem has occurred inside the printer.
<Remedy 1>
If <Service Error> or <Scanner Error> is displayed in the Printer Status Window, turn the printer OFF, wait for 10 seconds or longer, and then turn it ON again. This may clear the message.
<Remedy 2>
If the message does not disappear or <Fixing Unit Error> appears even after applying the Remedy 1, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
