Cause and Solution
If color tones of the scanned image are far away from what you expected or you want to scan the document in different color tones (brighter than the original, etc.),
You can use the Color Pattern function in ScanGear's Simple Mode. You can also use the Color Adjustment Buttons or adjust Monitor Gamma in ScanGear's Advanced Mode.
Adjusting Colors Using a Color Pattern
You can preview color changes and reproduce natural colors by using the Color Pattern function in ScanGear's Simple Mode.
Adjusting the Monitor Gamma Value
By setting the gamma value of a monitor (display), you can adjust the input data to the brightness characteristics of the monitor. Adjust this setting when the coloration of an original item is not accurately reflected in the monitor.
Click [Preferences] - [Color Settings] in ScanGear's Advanced Mode to adjust [Monitor Gamma].
Adjusting Tone Curve
Tone curve is a graph showing the balance of brightness. Edit tone curve to adjust the image brightness by adjusting the balance of tone input and output. You can make fine adjustments to the brightness of a specific area.
Adjusting Saturation and Color Balance
Adjust vividness and color balance. Use this function to brighten colors that have faded with time or due to colorcast.
Adjusting Brightness and Contrast
Adjust the brightness and contrast of a whole image or each RGB element. If the image is too dark or too bright, or if the image quality is flat due to lack of contrast, you can adjust the levels of brightness and contrast.
Adjusting Histogram
Histogram is a graph showing the distribution of brightness. You can adjust the graph to adjust the image.
