When shooting in manual focus mode with the FA-DC58B attached, the focus becomes soft if I try to achieve focus by referring to the distance shown by the MF indicator.

Solution

When the FA-DC58B is attached to the camera, take the following measures.

Shoot in autofocus mode; or
Set Safety MF to On if shooting in manual focus mode.

Because the front side of the lens barrel is suppressed due to the spring pressure of the FA-DC58B, there are cases where a margin of error is generated between the distance shown by the MF indicator on the camera’s LCD monitor and the actual in-focus distance.

Therefore, when using the MF indicator to achieve focus, the focus will become soft.
