Shooting in the Optimal Settings for a Self Portrait (Self Portrait) (PowerShot N2)

    Solution

      You can set brightness and smooth skin effect to make skin appear smooth for self portrait as you like and make yourself stand out by processing the image so that the background look blurred.
      The procedure for shooting in [Self Portrait] mode is explained below.

      1. Set the mode switch to < >, and then press the <Power> button to turn the camera on.



      2. Open the monitor as shown in the figure below.



      3. Touch [ ].


      NOTE
      [ ] is not displayed when the mode switch is set to [ ] and in the [ ] mode.

      4. Touch an icon displayed on the screen in accordance with the contents to set.



      • To configure menu items for which options are not shown, first touch the menu item to access the setting screen.
      • Choose the desired contents.
      • To return to the original screen, touch [ ].

      Available setting items and details are listed in the table below:

      -You can choose the brightness from five levels and the smooth skin effect from three levels. The smooth skin effect will be stronger for the face of the person detected as the main subject
        , Not to add any effect to blur the background, choose [ ] and then the camera will take only one shot per shooting.

        , , You can set the self timer. If you choose [ ], the number of seconds up to shooting will be displayed on the screen.
        , Choose [ ] when you do not use the touch shutter.

      NOTE
      • For the best results with this effect, try shooting close to the subject, and ensure ample distance between the subject and background.
      • Background defocus is fixed to [ ] when the flash mode is set to [ ].

      5. Press the shutter ring all the way down to shoot.
      Hold the camera steady as you shoot. When you press the shutter ring all the way down, the camera will take two shots and process them.
      NOTE
      • To return to the original mode after touching [ ] to enter the [ ] mode, close the screen and make the angle to approximately 180 degrees or less.
      • Excessive motion blur or certain shooting conditions may prevent you from obtaining the desired results.
      • Other things than skin may be corrected depending on the shooting conditions.
      • Try taking some test shots first to make sure you obtain the desired results.
      • There may be a delay before you can shoot again, as the camera processes the images.
