Solution

The camera will select the necessary settings for the conditions in which you wish to shoot when you choose the matching mode.

Set the Shooting mode

IMPORTANT

The position and shape of the operation buttons, screens displayed, and setting items may differ according to the model you use.

1. Set the camera’s mode switch to [

], and press the power button.

2. Press the <FUNC./SET> [

] button.

3. Press the [

], [

] buttons to choose [Shooting Mode] (If the settings have not been changed [

] will be displayed).

Press the <FUNC./SET> [

] button.

4. Press the [

], [

] buttons to choose the desired shooting mode. ([Portrait] (

) has been selected in the example image below.)

Press the <FUNC./SET> [

] button.

5. When the icon for the [Shooting Mode] you want appears in the top-right corner of the screen, the setting is complete.

	Shots Resembling Miniature Models	[Miniature Effect] ()	Creates the effect of a miniature model, by blurring image areas above and below your selected area.
	Shooting with a Toy Camera Effect	[Toy Camera Effect] ()	This effect makes images resemble shots from a toy camera by vignetting (darker, blurred image corners) and changing the overall color.
	Shooting in Monochrome	[Monochrome] ()	Shoot images in black and white, sepia, or blue and white.
Special Modes for Other Purposes	Auto Shooting After Face Detection	[Smart Shutter] ()	The camera can be set to shoot after detecting a smile [Smile Detection], wink [Wink Self-Timer], or the face of another person after they have entered the shooting area [Face Self-Timer].
	Shooting Long Exposures	[Long Shutter] ()	Specify a shutter speed of 1 – 15 seconds to shoot long exposures. In this case, mount the camera on a tripod or take other measures to prevent camera shake.
	High-Speed Continuous Shooting	[High-speed Burst] ()	You can shoot a series of shots in rapid succession by holding the shutter button all the way down.
Shooting in Program AE		[ ] Mode	You can customize many function settings to suit your preferred shooting style.

NOTE

[Handheld NightScene] ()

-Subjects appear larger compared to other modes.

-Shots may look grainy because the ISO speed is increased to suit the shooting conditions.

-Because the camera will shoot continuously, hold it steady while shooting.

-Excessive camera shake or certain shooting conditions may prevent you from obtaining the desired results.

-When you use a tripod for evening scenes, shooting in [

] mode instead of [

] mode will give better results.

[Fireworks] ()

-Mount the camera on a tripod or take other measures to keep it still and prevent camera shake. Additionally, you should set [IS Mode] to [Off] when using a tripod or other means to secure the camera.

-Although no frames are displayed when you press the shutter button halfway, optimal focus is still determined.

[Low Light] ()

Recording pixel setting is [M] (2592 x 1944) and cannot be changed.

[Long Shutter] ()

Set [IS Mode] to [Off] when using a tripod or other means to secure the camera.

[High-speed Burst] ()

-Recording pixel setting is [M] (2592 x 1944) and cannot be changed.

-Focus, image brightness, and color are determined by the first shot.

-Shooting may stop momentarily or continuous shooting may slow down depending on shooting conditions, camera settings, and the zoom position.

-As more shots are taken, shooting may slow down.

In the [Super Vivid] (), [Poster Effect] (), [Fish-eye Effect] (), [Miniature Effect] (), and [Toy Camera Effect] () modes, try taking some test shots first, to make sure you obtain the desired results.
