    Solution

      If there is a problem with the camera, an error code and the cause and solution of the error will be displayed on the LCD monitor.




      If details such as this are displayed, follow the instructions to resolve the error.

      Error Messages and Solutions

      Err 01Communication between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts.・Clean the electrical contacts on the camera and lens.
      ・Remove and install the battery again.

      Err 02Card* (*2) cannot be accessed. Reinsert or replace card * (*2) or format card * (*2) with the camera.・Remove and insert the card again.
      ・Replace the card.

      Err 04Cannot save images because card* (*2) is full. Replace card* (*2).・Replace the card.
      ・Erase unnecessary images to increase the available capacity.

      Err 06Sensor cleaning could not be performed. Turn the camera off and on again.・Set the power switch to <ON> and then turn the camera on again.

      IMPORTANT
      If error codes are displayed frequently, a malfunction may be the cause. Write down the error code number and contact your nearest Canon Service Center.
      CAUTION
      • When a memory card is formatted, all images and data on the card are erased. Even protected images will be erased, so make sure there is nothing you need to keep. If necessary, transfer the images and data to a computer, etc., before formatting the card.
