Solution
Using a wireless LAN, you can send and receive still images and movies between two cameras.
NOTE
- Only Canon-brand cameras equipped with a wireless LAN function can be connected to wirelessly. Even Canon-brand cameras that support Eye-Fi cards cannot be connected to if they do not have a wireless LAN function. You cannot connect to PowerShot SD430 DIGITAL ELPH WIRELESS/ DIGITAL IXUS WIRELESS cameras with this camera.
- Movies that have a playback time of 2 minutes or less can be sent. Multiple movies can be sent at once if their total playback time is within 2 minutes.
- A total of up to 50 still images and movies can be sent all at once.
- Depending on the condition of the network you are using, it may take a long time to send movies. Be sure to keep an eye on the camera battery level.
- You can also configure this setting through touch-screen operations
- When a connection destination is set using the Touch Actions setting, you can automatically access the function to connect to the last connected destination from the next time by just dragging on the screen without needing to perform the connection operation.
Connecting the cameras wirelessly
Perform the following operations on both of the cameras to be connected.
1. Press the <Playback> (
) button on the camera.
2. Press the <Up> (
) button on the camera.
NOTE
When making the settings for a wireless LAN for the first time, a screen will appear for you to register a nickname for the camera.
Press the <FUNC./SET> (
) button, enter a nickname using the keyboard. This nickname will appear on other devices on the wireless LAN when connecting from them.
3. Operate the <directional buttons> to choose (
), and then press the <FUNC./SET> (
) button.
4. Operate the <directional buttons> up or down to choose [Add a Device], and then press the <FUNC./SET> (
) button.
NOTE
- If you register a camera, that camera's name will appear on the screen in step 4. From the second time onward, select the camera's name to make the connection.
5.The following screen appears.
When the [Start connection on target camera] screen appears on both cameras, the registration will start.
Once the other camera is registered, the screen for sending images will appear. Please see step 7 and later steps for instructions on how to send images.
6. Once both cameras are connected, a screen like the one below will appear.
NOTE
- To add multiple cameras, repeat the above procedures starting from step 4.

7. Operate the <directional buttons> left or right to choose [Send this image]
, and then press the <FUNC./SET> (
) button.
NOTE
- To disconnect from the camera, press the <MENU> () button, and after the confirmation message, choose [OK] and press the <FUNC./SET> () button.
- you can choose the resolution (size) of images to send by pressing the <directional buttons> up or down.
- Movies cannot be resized.
8. The following screen appears.
After the image has been sent to the target camera and the [Image sent] message appears, return to step 7.

9. Operate the <directional buttons> left or right to choose [Select and send], and then press the <FUNC./SET> (
) button.

After the [Image sent] message appears, return to step 7.
NOTE
you can choose the resolution (size) of images to send by pressing the <directional buttons> up or down.
