Solution
Zoom positions set with the zoom lever or focal positions set manually are normally reset once you turn the camera off, but they can also be stored on the camera.
The procedure for storing zoom positions in the camera is explained below.
NOTE
- The following section explains the setting procedures when the camera’s shooting mode has been set to [Program AE] ().
- To store the zoom or focal position, it is necessary to set the [Shooting Mode] to one of the following modes.
- [Manual] (
), [Aperture Priority AE] (

), [Program AE] (

Storing the Zoom Position
1. Press the <Power> button to turn the camera on.
2. Press the <MENU> button, and then select the [Shooting] (
) tab.
3. Press the <

> buttons to choose [Recall Zoom/MF Settings], press the <FUNC./SET> (
) button, and then choose [Zoom Memory].
Press the <
><
> buttons to choose [On].
CAUTION
Zoom positions set in [
] Auto mode cannot be stored.
Storing the Focal Position
1. Press the <Power> button to turn the camera on.
2. Press the <MENU> button, and then select the [Shooting] (
) tab.
3. Press the <

> buttons to choose [Recall Zoom/MF Settings], press the <FUNC./SET> (
) button, and then choose [MF Memory].
Press the <
