Images cannot be opened with the software (supplied with the camera or downloaded from the Canon homepage)

    Solution

    If image files cannot be opened when using software included with the camera or downloaded from the Canon homepage, the software installed on your computer may not support the image files.

    • When installing software from a CD-ROM, check whether the software came with the camera used for shooting the images prior to performing the installation.
    • When installing software downloaded from the Canon website, please confirm the camera models supported by the version you downloaded using the procedure explained below.
    REFERENCE
    • If you have several Canon camera’s and are unsure which CD-ROM was included with the camera used for shooting at the time of purchase, please download the version which supports your camera from the Canon homepage.
    • If images cannot be opened even after you have installed the appropriate software, the cause of the problem may be unrelated to the software. In this case, please contact Canon customer support.

    Software Downloaded and Installed from the Canon Website
    Access the Canon homepage, and refer to the updater or the installer page to select your camera model and operating system and then download the software.
    After downloading the software, please install it on the computer.
